Oh My Jaw is a grassroots nonprofit community for people dealing with TMJ/TMD. Founded by someone who’s been through jaw surgery and knows firsthand what it’s like.
This platform is a space where patients, advocates, healthcare pros, and researchers come together to share stories, insights, and real solutions.
We’re not just a support group – we’re a movement. Our purpose? To create a world where TMJ disorders get the respect they deserve, and where every patient is treated with dignity, care, and empathy.
We’re here to flip the script on how people see TMJ disorders and the women’s health issues tied to the jaw. TMJ isn’t just about stress or grinding your teeth. It’s a whole-body issue that hits way harder than just your jaw joint. We’re here to educate, raise awareness, and make sure everyone finally gets it – because it’s not all in your head.
raise awareness, improve access to care, and crush the stigma
We are here to shine a light on TMJ by amplifying patient voices, pushing for meaningful policy reform, and providing lifestyle support and resources. We’re focused on bridging the gap between medical and dental care because, let’s face it, TMJ treatment needs more teamwork.
Through awareness campaigns, educational programs, and community support, we’re not just advocating for change—we’re creating a movement where no TMJ patient is left behind. It’s time to rewrite the story around TMJ, and we’re here to make sure everyone gets the care, respect, and support they need.
comprehensive, compassionate, Culturally competent Care
We’re dreaming of a world where TMJ disorders are finally taken seriously—no more brushing it off as stress or “just jaw pain.”
Women with TMJ deserve to be treated with dignity and respect—by healthcare providers, colleagues, family, and friends. No more dismissing, minimizing, or misunderstanding what it means to live with TMJ. We’re here to shift the narrative and make sure every TMJ patient is heard, seen, and supported—because that’s the future we’re fighting for.
Bridging the gaps between medical and dental, patient and provider, pain and perception.
We’re building a coalition of specialists to promote holistic diagnosis and treatment—because TMJ is more than just a jaw problem, and you deserve care that sees the whole you.
We are creating a central hub for women with TMJ-related disorders to have a user-friendly experience when seeking knowledge and help managing their complex TMJ healthcare needs.
No two TMJ journeys are the same—some are looking for pain relief, others for better function—but we all know the struggle of needing better options and real outcomes.
We’re here for the TMJ sufferers who’ve been dismissed, misunderstood, or passed from one provider to the next, chasing relief that feels just out of reach. If you’ve ever felt invisible or unheard—you’re not alone. We see you, and we want to hear what’s on your mind.
Together, we can disrupt the system and make a real difference for the millions of people stuck in limbo, waiting for answers, care, and respect.
Let’s change the narrative. Let’s demand better care. Let’s create the future we all deserve.
We believe in the power of community. It’s not just one voice—it’s the collective strength of the TMJ community that drives awareness, pushes for better care, and fights to break the stigma that’s surrounded TMJ for way too long.
At Oh My Jaw, we believe in community, collaboration, and making sure everyone feels heard. Shared experiences are powerful—when we lift each other up, we drive real change. Let’s make sure no one suffers in silence or feels like they’re being left behind. Together, we’ll build a future where TMJ patients are seen, respected, and supported on every step of their journey to better health.
We love sharing info and personal stories, but we’re not doctors. For real health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, always hit up a legit healthcare provider who knows their stuff.
We’re all about bridging the gap between medical and dental care, but we don’t do referrals. If you’re looking for a doctor, dentist, or specialist, we recommend asking your primary care provider or searching through trusted networks.
We’re here to listen and support, but if you’re in a medical or mental health emergency, reach out to the right people ASAP. Call 911 or a certified hotline if you need immediate help.
We’re all about empowerment, education, and community vibes. But at the end of the day, you’ve got to team up with healthcare pros to make the best decisions for you. Think of us as your hype squad—we’ve got your back, but your doctor’s got your treatment plan.
Jenny Feldman isn’t just your average advocate—she’s a powerhouse with over two decades of experience fighting for better care for TMJ patients. With degrees in Public Health Communication for Social Change (MS), Intellectual Property (JD), and Advertising and Communications (BA), Jenny knows how to blend education, advocacy, and policy to spark real change.
Her journey started back in the early 2000s with a video campaign focused on ending women’s pain, even taking her fight to Capitol Hill to make sure lawmakers heard the voices of those suffering. Since then, Jenny’s been on the front lines, repping the TMJ community through her work with the TMJ Association. She’s also joined MyFace, an organization supporting people with facial differences, where she ran fundraising events, mentoring programs, and support circles.
Jenny’s dedication to improving outcomes for women with TMJ goes beyond grassroots efforts—she’s also shaped policy. She testified at the FDA in 2016 and 2018, advocating for regulatory changes and helping develop a coordinated registry to track patient outcomes. In 2020, she presented at the National Academy of Medicine, Science, and Engineering, dropping some serious knowledge about gaps in care and making sure the experts took TMJ seriously.
She’s become a go-to voice for scientists, researchers, and providers, sharing insights from her own personal journey with TMJ—including the highs and lows of surgeries and treatments. Jenny’s story has even been featured in national media, shining a spotlight on the challenges TMJ sufferers face every day.
As if that’s not enough, she’s the admin of a global Facebook group, connecting TMJ providers and offering guidance to patients and families worldwide. Known for her tenacity, humor, and empathy, Jenny isn’t just raising awareness—she’s leading a movement to change the narrative around TMJ and push for better care.
When I first started dealing with this, going through endless surgeries, jaw pain, and feeling completely defeated by the medical system, I looked around and thought, where are the people like me? You see, TMJ isn’t something people talk about over dinner, but it should be. It’s this invisible monster that affects millions, yet we’re treated like it’s just a bad day or worse, that it’s all in our heads.
I started Oh My Jaw because I was sick of feeling invisible. No one sees the daily battles—the jaw locking, the constant discomfort, the emotional toll. People think you’re fine because you don’t look sick. But behind the scenes, my life was completely wired and screwed, literally. I’ve had surgeries, treatments, and have gone through pain that’s not just physical but mental. And still, life doesn’t stop. You’re managing your pain while advocating for better care, trying to explain to people that this isn’t just some minor inconvenience. It’s real, and it’s exhausting.
So, I decided to stop waiting for someone else to tell this story and started telling it myself. Oh My Jaw is about finding the people who understand this crazy TMJ journey. It’s about raising awareness and giving a voice to those who’ve been brushed aside by the system. And most importantly, it’s about taking control of the narrative and saying, “We deserve to be seen, to be heard, and to get the care we need."
This isn’t a sob story; it’s about taking the mess, the pain, the absurdity, and turning it into something powerful. Because if we’re going to live wired and screwed, we’re going to do it on our terms—and we’re going to make sure people know exactly what it’s like.
That’s why I started Oh My Jaw. To make sure none of us have to go through this alone.
